On 28 and 29 April 2026, in the opening week of the Carcavelos unit, the team sat down with parents and carers to talk about child development, autism and what comes after a diagnosis.

About the event
A space of welcome and guidance for families who want to understand their children's development better.
On 28 and 29 April 2026, right after the opening, Priorit Cascais received parents and carers in small groups throughout the day. The conversation started from the questions each family brought: worrying signs, what changes after a diagnosis, how to choose between therapies, and what to expect from the first months of support.
"Care means welcoming someone and supporting them with direction," says José Carlos Pitangueira, CEO of Instituto Priorit.
The meeting was neither a consultation nor an assessment: it was a guidance conversation. Anyone who wanted to take the next step could book an initial assessment, which remains the first formal contact with the Institute.
